Useful Photography Tips for Family, Baby & Childrens Photo Shoots
- For newborn sessions in my home studio; if your baby is formula fed, please allow for a long session and bring plenty of formula. For babies that are breastfed, I have a nice comfy rocking chair in the studio, so you can take the time you need to feed and resettle.
- For group shots, try and co-ordinate your clothing so that you complement one another.
- Avoid logos, pictures and writing on clothing, as these detract from the photos.
- Bring changes of clothes for little ones for both variety and in case of accidents!
- Bring a hair tie or clip for girls in case it is windy...to avoid hair covering little faces in photos.
- Bring baby wipes to wipe away those snots.
- For babies and children, costumes can work well e.g. fairy wings, princess costumes, cowboy costume.
- Feel free to bring along props such as a pretty feather or flower, bright lollipops or fairy floss, colourful plain balloons, wand or tea set, feather boa or bright umbrella!
- Most importantly, have fun, as the best photos are those that are natural.
